In 1998 Tracey Emin, living in East London when it was down and dirty, spent 4 days in bed in the depths of depression. When she finally emerged to get a mug of water she was so stunned by the mess around her she dived into a tug of war with her best friend. Kate wanted to party. For Tracey work came first. This is the story of how she won the battle and her despicable bed became a work of art.  ‘I captured people’s imagination,’ she says now. ‘My Bed was part of the Zeitgeist.’ Creating it had taken her from naked floorboards and old tampax to becoming Professor of Drawing at the Royal Academy of Arts. Tickets £12 each available from eventbrite.
